This level is designed as a transition between secondary and higher education. Foundation courses not only provide students with a thorough knowledge of a wide range of media and materials, they also enable them to develop creative sills, and to prepare a comprehensive portfolio for entry to degree level study.
In addition to this, students get the opportunity to explore a range of specialist options before deciding on a single area of specialist study at degree level.
The Foundation level is recommended by universities and colleges as the ideal preparation for higher degree level study.
The Interactive Design Institute offers a range of courses at Foundation and Diploma level, among them the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, widely recognised as the standard entry qualification to degree courses at universities throughout the UK.
