Tim Bones
Tim is Programme Leader and lecturer at K College in Kent, responsible for delivering a range of courses, including the BA (Hons) Graphic Design for the University of Kent. He is also a freelance graphic designer; his clients include Montrose Filmworks, and Tick-Tock Media, with whom he has produced numerous children’s books. He was previously a graphic designer for Castelli (UK) where he worked for clients such as Mercedes, Air Canada, Tate Restaurants, Saudi Airlines, Continental Airlines, Eagle Star, IBM and Shell Oil. He has also worked in advertising, and was a lecturer in Design and Illustration at Hastings College of Arts & Technology. He is a member of the International Visual Literacy Association (IVLA) and the Institute for Learning (MIFL). |
Joanna Kane
Joanna is a tutor in Digital Media and Video for Edinburgh University Art and Design Studies programme, she has worked as a Lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art and Napier University, and as Visiting Lecturer at Grays School of Art, the University of Gloucestershire, and Norwich University of the Arts. She has experience of a wide range of Visual Communication disciplines, as a lecturer, practitioner and researcher, including Graphic Design, Typography, Digital Imaging, Photography and Web Design. Joanna’s work has been featured in Creative Review and Eye Magazine. |

Victoria Redman
Victoria has a wide range of experience both as a designer and a lecturer. She is currently Associate Lecturer in Design at the University of Derby and Loughborough University, teaching on their BA (Hons) Visual Communication programmes. She was previously Design Manager at Egg Banking plc and Senior Web Designer at Thomson Financial Ltd. |
Sheila Kendrick
Sheila is a lecturer at the University of Derby, teaching on the BA (Hons) Computer Games Modelling and Animation programme. She was Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Design and Digital Media and FdA New Media Design & Production programmes. Sheila is currently undertaking research towards her PhD at the University of York. |

Robert Potts
Robert is currently employed as a freelance designer whose focus is on design, artwork and copywriting. Robert is also a visiting lecturer in Graphic Design and Visual Communications at the University of Salford and Leeds College of Art. Robert’s previous posts have included events manager within Erin Arts centre and Designer at KK Design and Print. |
Andrew Moran
Andrew is currently employed as a visiting lecturer in photography and graphic design and is responsible for the coordination and curation of the photo hub group for Brighton Photo Biennial Fringe Hasting Photographic Festival while continuing to work as a freelance photographer and designer. Andrew has also worked as curriculum leader and course team leader in the areas of photography and graphics, working across a wide range of educational and academic levels at Sussex Coast College Hastings. |

Ella Goodwin
Ella is a freelance artist and designer working with illustration and animation for print and web. Her portfolio includes work for children’s narrative, exhibitions and within commercial and educational fields. Ella was previously a sessional lecturer and Digital Media Technician at Norwich University College of the Arts, lecturing across a broad spectrum of courses including BA Graphics, Publishing and Animation and MA Digital Arts and Animation. |
Tracey-Ann Rees
Tracey currently runs her own business, which specialises in comprehensive creative design solutions for public and private sector organisations. Clients include Cardiff City Council and South Wales Police. In addition to running her own business, Tracey keeps up to date with current design practice through continuing professional training. |

Peter Iain Campbell
Iain is an experienced professional photographer whose work has been published in the UK, USA, Germany, Japan, Italy and Australia. He has undertaken commissions for design and advertising agencies, charities and community-based organisations and independent arts organisations, and he has had a number of solo exhibitions across Scotland. He has been a visiting lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art and at Napier University, Edinburgh. |
Iain Stewart
Iain gained his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Edinburgh College of Art, and lectured at the College until 2008. He is an experienced fine art and commercial photographer, and has exhibited widely in the UK, Europe and the USA. His work is held in many public collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Lannan Foundation, New Mexico; Birmingham City Museum and Museet for Fotokunst, Odense, and in private and corporate collections in the UK and overseas, including those of Sir Elton John and Goldman Sachs. He is represented by the Photographers Gallery, London; Julie Saul Gallery, New York and Gail Gibson Gallery, Seattle. |

David Eaton
David is Senior Lecture in Art, Design and Digital Technology at the Central College of Commerce, Glasgow. He is a member of the College’s Board of Management, and chairs the Design Team at the Scottish Qualifications Authority. He has been a visiting lecturer at the School of Architecture, Strathclyde University, and is a freelance Multimedia and Web designer. He has been involved in research projects in the UK and Europe and has collaborated on a number of Multimedia performances with visual artists and musicians in Scotland. |
Andrew Welsby
Andrew is employed as a lecturer in computing, digital art and creative digital media at City of Glasgow College and Central College Glasgow. He also works as a practicing artist, working freelance with a wide range of clients to deliver creative engagement projects throughout the UK. Additionally, Andrew is currently studying for his Master of Research in Creative Practices on a part time basis. |

Dr Alessandra Campoli
Alessandra is currently based at the University of the West of Scotland, conducting practice-based research in Media Arts. She was previously a researcher in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’, and a director of a three year research project for the Italian National council of Scientific Research (CNR). She was Visiting Lecturer in Performance Art at Silpakorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, and has been a part time Lecturer and Tutor at both the University of the West of Scotland and the University of Rome. Alessandra has also recently completed her PhD. |
Dr Caroline Parre
Caroline is Reader in Typography and Director of The Typographic Hub, a specialist research centre for the history, theory and practice of typographic design based at Birmingham City University. Her areas of expertise include: typographic history (British and European), printing history (British and European), and typographic and typeface design practice. She has published widely and her books include Paris Underground [Mark Batty Publishers, 2005], The St Bride Notebook [Incline Press, 2003], Tart Cards: London¹s illicit advertising art [Mark Batty Publishers, 2003] and The Kynoch Press, 18761981 [British Library, 2000] Caroline publishes extensively in both the trade and academic press, and broadcasts and lectures internationally on all aspects of typographic and printing history. |

Heidi Saarinen
Heidi is Senior Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire, and Tutor on the BA (Hons) Interior Architecture & Design programme. She previously lectured at the College of NW London and London Metropolitan University. Heidi has been involved in a number of design based and visual arts practice projects. |
Denitsa Petrova
Denitsa is currently completing her PhD Dissertation which aims to explore the relationship between art in the public realm and Web 2.0. She has previously tutored at Edinburgh College of Art within the Centre for Visual and Cultural Studies. During her career, Denitsa has worked in web development, design studio management and was a research associate in research and knowledge Transfer- web design within the faculty of engineering, computing and creative industries at Napier University, Edinburgh. |

Lorna Brown
Lorna is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art having achieved her degree and post graduate qualifications in the early 1990’s. After graduating she established a screen printing studio providing facilities for artists and designers to develop print based artwork. |
Keir Sim
Across a long and varied career, Keir has previously lectured in a wide variety of business related subjects in addition to developing open learning materials in Law, Accounting and Marketing. While working at Edinburgh’s Telford College, Keir was head of the business department and senior management team before moving on to a post as associate principal. |

Hazel Terry
Hazel is a lecturer in Further Education delivering classes in art, craft, textiles, animation and design and is currently Curriculum Head for NC Introduction to Creative Arts and NC Fashion. Hazel combines her teaching commitments with her work as an artist and she exhibits regularly. |
Kevin Hallsworth
Kevin is Tutor and specialist technical advisor at the University of Lincoln for the award winning BA Furniture Design programme. He is a practicing furniture designer / maker with fourteen years’ experience and is a member of a number of design groups and organisations. |

Guy BegbieBA (Hons), MA Graphic design, Illustration
Guy Begbie is a multi disciplinary book artist and designer. He has been teaching at various UK Universities as a lecturer and coordinator since 1995. Guy is currently employed as a visiting associate lecturer at the University of the West of England, delivering MA and BA (Hons) programmes. In recent research practice, he has made collaborative, graphic and typographic works. These were commissioned by the University of Dundee for an AHRC project entitled ‘Poetry Beyond Text’ and have been exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh. |
Phil Holt is currently the managing director of Web Foundry Limited where he specialises in user centric web design, Joomla custom template development, Joomla consultancy, CMS consultancy, branding and online marketing consultancy. Phil has previously been employed as Chief Executive at Rundeep, Creative Director at McCullum Advertising and Art Director with Morris Nicholson Cartwright. A graduate of Bolton College of Art and Design, Phil has been involved in the design, building and ongoing development of the Interactive Design Institute’s web provision since the company started and brings a wealth of industry experience to his role as tutor on the Interactive Media Design course. |

Suzanne MartinGraphic design, Illustration
Suzanne is a Lecturer in Visual Communication at the School of Textiles and Design at Heriot Watt University, where she delivers courses across the undergraduate Fashion programme. Suzanne is also a visiting lecturer on the MA & BA Fashion programmes at Kingston University where she works with students on media based projects and their London Fashion Week showcase. Suzanne previously taught in the Architecture School at the University of Strathclyde. |

Dawn has been a professional Designer Maker for over 10 years and has exhibited her work across galleries and exhibitions nationally. Her practice engages with a range of media and embraces the historical theory and techniques of her academic research of optical philosophical instruments. This work is currently expressed through her collection of ceramic, glass, wood and mixed media pieces. An experienced lecturer across several fields of design, Dawn currently lectures in historical and critical theory, dissertation, design visualisation and professional practice on both the Graphic Design and Fashion and Textiles BA Honours programmes at the University Centre Doncaster. She is also a tutor in Design for the Open University. |
Gareth Longstaff lectures in Critical and Contextual Studies in Media and Visual Culture at Newcastle University and the University of Cumbria. His teaching and research interests are primarily concerned with how gender and sexuality, celebrity, nostalgia, identity/identifications, psychoanalysis and visual culture intersect. He is also professionally involved in several other dimensions of cultural, design, mediated and social life as a freelance journalist. Gareth is near completion of his doctoral thesis at Newcastle University. |

Karl da SilvaBA (Hons), MSc Graphic Design, Illustration
Karl is a freelance multimedia artist and educator working on design and audiovisual productions. He was previously course director for BA (Hons) Media Arts at Newbold College of Higher Education and has lectured at undergraduate level in graphic design, video and audio in England (Newbold College) and Scotland (University of Abertay Dundee). Karl is currently working on his media production start-up company, along with carrying out media degree inspection for Adventist Accrediting Association. |
