BA (Hons) Graphic Design with Marketing |
Description
This course shares much in common with the BA (Hons) Graphic Design & Illustration course. It is designed to give you the ability to generate great creative ideas as well as the skills to execute them. The course is industry focused, with the emphasis on multi-disciplinary approaches to problem solving.
You will also include specialist study in Marketing – in particular issues relating to marketing within the creative industries – within your core subjects. You will gain an understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of marketing, and will be able to add knowledge of business practices to your creative skills.
You will learn to be equally at home using both traditional graphic and illustration media and the latest digital technology. You will work on a range of practical projects, and learn how to respond to design problems across a range of areas including book and magazine design, book and poster illustration, corporate communications and point of sale.
You will gain experience of working on live projects, and will develop your knowledge of design production. In doing so, you will benefit from shared experience with other students within the UK and worldwide, and from our collaboration with overseas partners.
In short, you will be equipped to work as a professional designer in the fast moving area of graphic communication. You will acquire the skills to market yourself professionally, and to work either as part of a design team, or as a freelance designer working for both private and corporate clients.
Start Dates: October / February / June
