As citizens of the UK are aware, the standard rate of VAT was temporarily reduced to 15 per cent on 1 December 2008 and returned to 17.5 percent on 1 January 2010.
This means that any sales of standard-rated goods or services made on or after 1 January 2010 must charge VAT at the rate of 17.5 per cent.

However, at the Interactive Design Institute we have decided to absorb this increase and our course fees will remain at the pre increase level for those enrolling for the February 2010 intake.
