IDI first to offer UK design degrees in Indonesia |
|
Directors at IDI, Professor Roy Leitch and Fiona Crosbie, recently visited Indonesia to establish new partnerships with universities and polytechnics for the provision of UK design degrees. During the trip they met with private providers, high schools and visited the campus at the University of Indonesia. Two partnership agreements were signed resulting in students being recruited to IDI programmes starting in September this year. There are few providers of international art and design programmes in Indonesia and there’s a strong indication, when established, design degrees will be popular with students. One of the private providers is MEP/GITA, their Director, Fehmeed Anwar, said: “This is a very exciting development for us and we are delighted to partner with the Interactive Design Institute to offer the first UK design Degrees in Indonesia.” On the return leg of the trip, Roy and Fiona met with IDI partners AZAD University in Dubai to discuss plans for recruitment to the IDI/University of Hertfordshire online Masters Programmes starting in September.
