The UK’s only provider of online degree qualifications in design, The Interactive Design Institute, has secured a substantial financial package as part of a second round of funding. The Midlothian based company has attracted investment from a group of international and domestic investors including Edinburgh’s Capital Angels. Formed in 2004, the Interactive Design Institute provides degree level courses accredited by the University of Hertfordshire and programmes in English for Speakers of Other Languages approved by the Scottish Qualifications Authority through a web based learning environment. Founding director Michael Stewart said: “This investment will enable us to further develop our international markets and expand into new subject areas. Additionally, we are delighted to welcome representatives from Capital Angels onto our board and look forward to the contribution their expertise will bring to our company.” Capital Angels are a syndicate of sector-focused business angels who provide companies and entrepreneurs with professional capital and expertise. The syndicate comprises experienced private investors and successful sector entrepreneurs who provide beneficiaries with sector focused management, superior mentoring, quality contacts, key strategic advice and follow on funding. Capital Angels, CEO, Fraser Niven said: “We have every confidence that our investment in IDI will benefit both our investors and the team at IDI. As well as providing capital for growth we will provide advice and good contacts for IDI to help them achieve their business objectives.” The Scotsman newspaper covered this story to read the article follow this link: http://thescotsman.scotsman.com/business/IDI-has-designs-on-expansion.5264967.jp Or for more information contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
