The Browne Report; Attendance based students may face increased fees
- 15 October 2010
Published this week, Lord Browne's eagerly awaited review of student funding proposes the most radical shake-up of higher education funding for several years. The review calls for the cap on student fees to be lifted. This will mean that institutions could charge as much as £12,000 per year for some of their courses and according to Business Minister, Vince Cable, the Government is "considering this carefully". And Mr Cable admitted the Governments pledge not to increase student fee would have to be abandoned, blaming the current economic climate.
For students attending university based courses, this could mean the cost of their studies rising significantly; typically £48,000 for a four year honours degree course. And when coupled with accommodation and living costs, leaving university with a substantial debt to pay off.
At the Interactive Design Institute we are committed to keeping courses fees at an affordable level, and can offer students a range of discounts and payment plans.
If you apply now, you can secure your place and qualify for a discount on your fees
