Julie White - UK

Dip HE Interior and Spatial Design

Julie had wanted to pursue art related subjects throughout school and hoped to go on to study design at university. However, a restricted curriculum choice and pressure from her family prevented this. Consequently, Julie left school aged sixteen and entered the world of work.

At work Julie struggled to find outlets for her creativity. Despite her natural ability, none of Julie's employers would put her into their design team due to her lack of formal qualifications. Finally, after 24 years Julie decided to fulfil her potential and study for the qualification that she needed but had so far eluded her.

“I Googled 'Interior Design Online' and got two results. The choice was between two options, and the IDI course…… was head and shoulders above the other in content.”

“Online study is the best option for me as it means I can be at home for child care and I don't have to travel.”

“The administration staff at IDI have been great and are always more than helpful”.

“I am very lucky that I can study for this course. I know that not being able to study or work in design for so long has made me determined not to waste this opportunity and to get as much out of it as possible. My husband would tell you that he's never seen me so happy. I just feel that this is what I should have been doing all along.”
